The Hiking Matrix shares articles, resources and reviews oriented towards empowering hiking, trail, and environment wisdom.
Hiking, according to Wikipedia, is a long, vigorous walk usually on trails or footpaths in the countryside. In Canada, walking is used for shorter, particularly urban walks. In the UK and the Republic of Ireland, the word “walking” describes all forms of walking, whether it is a walk in the park or backpacking in the Alps. In Australia hiking is commonly called bushwalking and in New Zealand, a long, vigorous walk or hike is called tramping. Yet, despite the different terms and variations in meaning, all forms of walking have health benefits.
The matrix of hiking includes trail etiquette, the importance of proper equipment, understanding possible hazards. and the potential impact we have on the environment.
The hiking matrix is the framework that brings all of the parts of the hiking experiences together. Most importantly we aim to intertwine the “ART” of the matrix to create a holistically healthy, rewarding experience.
