In human psychology is a person’s assent to the reality of a situation, recognizing a process or condition (often a negative or uncomfortable situation) without attempting to change it or protest it. Radical acceptance, according to Marsha Linehan, author of the DBT Skills Training Manual can be defined as follows:
- Radical means all the way, complete and total.
- It is accepting in your mind, your heart, and your body.
- It’s when you stop fighting reality or feeling agitated because reality is not the way you want it–and to let go of bitterness.

The myriad of energy, emotions, actions, information, choices, challenges, and concerns we face daily can be overwhelming. Taking periodic time-outs helps us to quietly reflect on our thoughts, actions, emotions, experiences, and interactions.

Transformation is an artful paradigm shift of core values, world views, or habitual thoughts with mindful reflection, when it builds holistic well-being.
